It all started when the owners of the Hotel found some photos of Rodrigo on their website that revealed the charm of some places in the city that may go unnoticed but are part of the history of the Empire, as well as highlighting other aspects of the most important cultural icons. important in the city.

When they proposed to exhibit these works at the hotel, Zalazar Cavalleris confessed: “I immediately said yes” .

“I did not want to fall into the common place of taking photos of the square, the cathedral, in short, those key places in any city. Since I like details, shapes, I thought it would be better to transmit something from those simple, small places . The idea is not to supplant a place in reality with an image, but rather to convey a sensation of what that place produces” , said the photographer.

“When I was a boy I liked to take photos, at home there was a Kodak Instamatic, one of those pocket cameras that had a disposable flash, and that was the first camera I was able to use, it aroused my curiosity” , says Rodrigo and adds: “ with photography I found a very powerful expressive tool . Faced with the reality that surrounds us, the photographer can take a shot with his camera and that means making an interpretive act of that reality where the ideological, cultural, psychological, perceptive or emotional aspects appear manifested. That's really the magic of it."

When asked about what it means for him that the guests of the Grand Hotel Río Cuarto are in contact with the works, Rodrigo explains that it is a great satisfaction for him that they get to know another view of the city: “What I like the most is that the image transmits something , that something moves you inside, whatever it is: emotion, curiosity or those inexplicable sensations that you like something and you don't know what it is. I think that the people who see them will surely take away a part of the essence of what this city means ” .
